Lost Soles Climbing is a climbing and outdoor footwear resoling company that specializes in the repair of used and damaged climbing shoes. Our team has spent seven years honing our skills and perfecting our craft of resoling. Day in and day out we use our hands, our heads and our hearts to be laborers, craftsmen and artists. We are committed to keeping one of the world’s oldest green trades alive as well as providing the best quality repair work to our customers and educating them on the economic and environmental benefits of resoling. We offer half sole, full sole, toe rand and touch up repairs for climbing and outdoor footwear. We also provide special order repairs including flip-flops and skate shoes.

THE SOLE
The sole is the bottom piece of rubber that is glued and pressed onto the rand.
THE RAND
The rand is the upper piece of rubber that wraps around the shoe, over the toes and folds under the shoe.

When Should I Resole?
Here at the Lost Soles workshop, we see countless toe blowouts, and we are more than happy to make your shoes' toes like new. But what about all that hard work you put into breaking in those toe boxes? In order to prolong the overall lifetime of your shoes you should resole your shoes before you wear through the sole and into the rand. This will ensure that after resoling, your shoes will maintain that "broken in" fit in the toe area of your shoes and will allow you to obtain the maximum amount of resoles.
We recommend that you resole your shoes when the sole at the front of the shoe is 50% to 60% worn.
THE GOOD
If the sole is worn down with no damage to the rand we only have to repair the front part of the sole. We offer a 10% early turn-in discount to customers who only need the half sole repair work to encourage them to not wear through the rand of their shoes. This prolongs the life of the shoes plus it's a faster turn around on our end!
THE BAD
From toe scumming, toe hooking or dragging the toe, the rand rubber will wear thin and eventually wear through to expose the upper part of the shoe. Due to the fact that the rand wraps under the sole we must replace the rand with new rubber so that the sole will have a proper rand with which to bond.
THE UGLY
When climbers wear through the rand and the upper part of the shoe (i.e. toes poke through the front of shoe) we must patch, stitch and reshape the shoe so we can adhere a new rand.
Why Should I Resole?
MONEY SAVING
If you climb on a regular basis you can easily wear through two to three pairs of climbing shoes a year. Quality well maintained shoes can be resoled 7-10 times at a much lower cost compared to buying new shoes.
ENVIRONMENT
By resoling your shoes you avoid throwing them away, eventually ending up in a landfill. According to the Shoe Service Institute of America, shoe repair is among the oldest forms of recycling. Each year the shoe repair industry keeps some 62 million pairs of shoes out of landfills and on consumers’ feet. Shoe repair is one of the oldest green professions on earth and more and more people are looking to recycle and repair shoes instead of buying new ones. We also have an old/retired shoe donation program. If you would just rather buy a new pair of shoes, send us your old shoes and we will patch them up to be sent to climbing schools in third world countries.
Avoid the Break-in Period
We all know that uncomfortable break-in period when we buy a new pair of shoes. You can avoid the break-in period by resoling your shoes. With fresh rubbers on soles and rands your shoes will look and perform like new, yet retain that broken-in comfortable feel so you can get straight to sending your project.
